Hope Like No One is Watching

I’ve been feeling incredibly hopeful lately. Even sickeningly so, some might say. But those are just the people who believe since I’m hopeful I’m not paying attention to the world around me. I must be silly or naive. They think I failed to watch the news last night if I still have an ounce of hope in me.

Well, guess what? I did miss the news last night. I missed the news the last 285 nights, give or take a 100.

On purpose!

That doesn’t mean I’m not informed. I am.

I’ve just decided to safeguard my heart like a fat kid safeguards his cake. I’m all in, even using my body as a shield if necessary.

And the result has been hope.

We must never be afraid to hope. Our God is the God of all hope. He is the giver of hope. It’s all His and He is honored and glorified by a life that hopes in Him. He tells us that we should be prepared to give an account of the hope in us. I would love to be known for being hopeful.

Faith is hope. When you hope you are living in heaven’s economy. If you are hopeless then you aren’t walking in faith. If you have a hopeless situation on your hands it is only because the God of all hope has not touched it yet. Maybe you haven’t let Him.

Any area of your life that seems overwhelmingly hopeless is an area in which you are believing lies. Uncover those lies and find the truth. In every situation, God is able to do even more than you could hope or imagine. To hope is Godly. Choose hope. It’s the brave and the smart thing to do.

I get saved by believing in Jesus. I get free by believing like Jesus. My hopelessness about a problem is a bigger problem than the problem.  – Steve Backlund

Now, don’t get me wrong, standing firm in hope isn’t always easy. The enemy hates hope and will always threaten us with a broken heart and crushed spirit if we dare to hope. He’s lying of course but even if… God is close to the broken-hearted. Don’t think you’re doing yourself a favor by protecting yourself against hope. Hope always deserves another chance when it comes to faith in our good God.

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.     Hebrews 11:1 TPT

I pray this encourages you to step out in faith and believe in the impossible from God. I did just that a few years ago when I asked God for more of Him. I wanted Him to draw me into a place of deep intimacy, a place I had only imagined existed. And He did. I wrote about my journey with Him in my latest book, Unadulterated. The journey is also one of the reasons for my current state of hopefulness. When you get a better glimpse of the Father’s goodness and incredible love for us it’s hard not to be hopeful.

After reading Unadulterated, you may just find yourself filled with hope and faith in a good God who is completely for you. You may even find yourself coming to terms with the fact that He desires intimacy with His children even more than we do.

You can purchase Unadulterated on Amazon.
